How to Throw Virtual Baby Shower during COVID19

Planning a baby shower can be stressful enough, adding to the stress is the COVID-19 outbreak. All that planning and now you may have to cancel because friends and family can't gather. One thing is for sure, babies arrival is something you can't delay. But don't worry, you have another option, Virtual Baby Showers!

Virtual or online baby showers are generally the same concept as traditional baby shower. Thankfully, in the current age of technology, there are plenty of options for websites or apps to get your friends and family all together on-screen.

Facebook has been hosting parties for a long time and is particularly good for events given their streamlined invite system and integrated live video chat system through Facebook Messenger. Just make sure the event is set to private.

There are lots of options, but free video services like Zoom, Skype, Facetime, Facebook messenger or Google Hangouts is a great way to save money. As long as you and your guests have an internet connection and a phone or computer with a webcam, then a live video is possible. You can even hook up your computer to your tv so it’s much for everyone to see (and for you to see everyone).

Digital invitations are very popular, which means the only hard part is choosing which design to go with. We offer several designs that you can edit yourself or we will edit for you. Just email to your guests with a link to your virtual shower.

Decorations don't have to go out the door. Your guests will still see you on camera, and it can really help set a theme for your party. The decor may all be gathered in one space in your home like a backdrop with balloons, welcome baby sign, and wall hangings. Get creative!

Just because you’re not all in the same room doesn’t mean you can’t play games and have prizes to win. We offer games you can download and email to your guests to print at home and follow along online. Some of our favorite games that you can follow along online is The Price is Right, Baby Bingo or Guess Who games.

JackBox Games offers a variety of easy play games for up to eight players. It’s available on several platforms including Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, XBox, Playstation, and more. They offer party packs for $12 to $20.

When it's time for mommy-to-by to open gifts, guests can send their gifts weeks in advance so you can open them on camera for everyone. This is great for the expecting parents since they won't have to collect all the shower gifts from a hosted locations back home. Easy!

If guests plan on sending gifts to you after the shower date you can still share with friends and family.  WebBabyShower allows your site and all the photos and videos to stay live for up to six months (or one full year for an additional $50), and Facebook events are accessible for as long as you keep them up. So you can post photos of belated gifts or, once baby arrives, show them off in that bodysuit your aunt sent for all your guests to see!
